We thought we'd capture a couple of Aidan's goofy moments. He doesn't perform well for the camera and I'm a terrible videographer, but we're learning! Also worthy of note is what a good little teacher Kirstin is! Aidan really looks up to her, and we really appreciate what a great sister she is.
The summer has gotten the best of us. We can't keep up with the brutal heat so we are harvesting the last tomatoes on the vine and letting the rest shrivel up and die. It was fun while it lasted.
This week was full of dentist and doctor appointments and school shopping. If it weren't for our good friend Merilee being willing to trade babysitting with us, I'd be in a real bind. Robbie got his immunizations for 6th grade. He's never had a reaction to an immunization before, so I was alarmed when the next day he had a fever and slept half the day. His arm had a big red ring the size of a tennis ball that was hot and sore to the touch. After 2 days I took him in to the doctor and he told us it was an allergic reaction to one of the viruses and he would eventually get over it. (Poor guy!) The kids all went to the dentist and got a clean bill of health (whew!) We did not, however, get out of the dentist's office without embarrassing ourselves in the process. (You know me, queen of Embarrassment Land!) Caleb was pretty wiggly while watching Robbie's teeth being cleaned. After he attempted to inspect all of the equipment in the room, I confined him to the only chair in the room. It had an padded arm rest that was meant to swing around the waist of the person sitting in the chair--probably to lay instruments on or something. Next thing I know, Caleb has cinched this arm rest up so tight against his body that he could hardly breathe. Of course, the lever to release the armrest jammed and no one could budge it. So all the nurses were searching for someone to work on the chair. I must have looked like a crazy person banging on that lever. I was envisioning fire trucks, the jaws of life, and the disapproving glare from the man behind the puppy dog mask. Thankfully my desperate maneuvers paid off and I was able to release him before the nurses came back. I must have had a murderous look on my face because Caleb behaved perfectly for the rest of the appointment.

Adventures at the Dentist...yeah, that could be a book in itself! Let me know when you get it published.
Can't beleive how cute that little Aiden is. He's such a tall skinny (well, don't tell him that) but full of cute. Thank goodness for wonderful sisters.
