Well, I'm going to try this blogging thing even though I hate writing and do not have a good relationship with computers! I'm having a hard time keeping in touch with family without sacrificing the needs of my own so hopefully this will help.
Spring is in full bloom here which means we are all sick as dogs. The allergy season seems to be worse this year than most. This, too, shall pass.
It is beautiful though, and all our roses are blooming. We have yellow, pale pink, blush (white with a tinge of pink) coral and fuschia roses. Our wisteria bloomed and our hydrangeas are now just starting to bud. We just planted a rock garden by the playhouse--Caleb's on one side of the door and Kirstin's on the other. We hope it will survive.
We've also ventured into gardening this year. Since we have no sunny spots in our yard, a nice member of the ward (Margaret Crowther) offered to let us use some of her garden space. We teamed up with another family in the ward (the MacQueens) and orginally planned to keep the garden very small. Ha! With my ambition and Rob's farming nostalgia, we have now planted 10 squash plants, 2 rows of green beans, 1 row of cucumbers 4 hills of cantalope, 3 hills of pumpkins, 30 tomato plants and 8 bell peppers! The kids really enjoyed planting--especially Robbie. He really loved poking those green beans into the soil. He tells us that being a farmer will help him be a prophet. If we can keep him and Aidan from squashing all the plants we should have some success! Kirstin and Caleb mostly like running around with their MacQueen friends playing "half-Indian Mormon pioneers" . I remember playing games like that when I was a kid!

Oh what fun! I'm a little jealous of your garden. Ours will be (if I get around to planting it...) in pots on the deck. We have the space to plant one, just none of the tools that would be necessary to remove the grass, till the soil, etc.
Good luck with the allergies!
hugs,
Charlotte
